- I think that people should bear in mind that even if you are acquitted that does not mean you are "innocent" of the crime. It means the jury found "reasonable doubt". And that is why this guy's sentence was vacated.

- In Canada we dropped the death penalty many years ago and that was because too many people had been wrongly put to death. Even before that happened I was against the death penalty. Somehow "beyond a reasonable doubt" just doesnt cut it for me.

- Well I will tell you that the Mayors in Canada dont have time for nonsense like this. As far as the cigarettes are concerned we have had them covered for a few years now - pharmacies have stopped selling them and the government has them up to 93.00 a carton.

- First of all are we supposed to feel sorry for Zimmerman because he has gained 100 lbs over the last year and has had to be in hiding all year. Remember Trayvon's life was cut short at a very young age and there are many many things that he will never get to experience in life.

- I might be wrong but I think somewhere I read that in Africa there are no Jury trials - that the decision comes strictly from the judge. Whether that is good or bad I dont know but somehow I have a feeling that he may wiggle out of this with a reduced charge and less time in jail.
